Tamnavulin
Tamnavulin is a Speyside malt whisky distillery and commenced production in 1966. Following closure in 1995 it re-opened in 2007 and now operates with six stills. Tamnavulin sits by the River Livet on the northern edge of the Cairngorm Mountains.
NOSE: Opens sweetly spiced (cinnamon?) carrying a creamy sweet quality of butter caramels.
PALATE: More sweet spices warming to oven baked apples and spiced peaches tarte tatin style.
FINISH: Long developing to an attractive butterscotch and vanilla character with lingering sweet spices.
